Toshi "Wado" Sato
He started his fighting career in Shooto under Noboru Asahi. For three years he trained with teammate Rumina Sato. After his successful Shooto Debut he saw the first UFC and was intrigued on how Royce Gracie defeated many stronger and larger opponents quite effortlessly including Pancrase standout, Ken Shamrock. To learn this Martial Art he set out for Brazil in 1997 and joined the world famous Alliance Academy in Sao Paulo. Under the instruction of Leo Vieira and Fabio Gurgel he became the first Japanese to ever medal at the Mundials in 1998.
In 2002, There was the split up of Alliance and Wado decided to follow Terere, Comprido, Felipe Costa, and the Vieira Brothers to Master and subsequently Brasa.In 2007, Wado was awarded his blackbelt from Leo Vieria.
As a coach, Wado has produced and worked with some of the best talent in Asia. His students are from an international make up coming from Brazil, Guam, USA, Canada,Russia, South Korea,Malaysia, Israel, Hong Kong,New Zealand, Phillipines, Germany and Guyana.
